Sharon Kaye Wright, 25, resident of 700 Western Rd., died Thursday evening at the Waynesboro Community Hospital.
She was born in Waynesboro, Virginia, May 9, 1958, a daughter of Gladys S. Smith, Waynesboro, and the late Joseph N. Smith.
She was an employee of Captain Sam's Landing.
She graduated from Waynesboro High School Class of 1976, and Elizabeth Brant School of Business.
Also surviving are her husband Gary L. Wright, Waynesboro; paternal grandfather, George W. Smith of Danville and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Emma Shotwell also of Danville. Two sisters, Lisa Shields, Lyndhurst, and Deborah Jo Smith, Orlando, Florida; three brothers, Roderick N. Smith, Tony S. Smith and Franklin S. Smith all of Waynesboro; three nieces, Heather Jo Smith, Mandy Wright and Nicole Fitzgerald; three nephews, Bengi Frenger, William Wright and Chip Glover; eleven aunts and uncles.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of McDow Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Phillip Forehand and Rev. Hatley Mabry.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Danny Adkins, Allen Milford, Chris Fountain, David Foster, Duane Cline, Steve Bruce, Tom Hanger and Doug Deffenbaugh.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Employees of Captain Sam's Landing, Donna Byrd, Anita Adkins, JoAnn Milford, Laura Hanshaw, John L. Moore, Laura VanPatten, John VanPatten, George Terry, Laura Terry, Eddie Overhauser, Scott Carter, Gene Thomas, Carson Rexrode and Curtis Patterson.
The family requests Memorial Contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. R. H. Clemmer, 656 Cherry Avenue, Waynesboro, Va. 22980.
The family will receive friends at the McDow Funeral Home this Saturday evening from 7 to 8 p.m.
The family requests there be no public viewing.
